Elizabeth Irene Borst

Elizabeth (Pitman) Borst, age 83, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at her home. Libby was a lifelong homemaker and her greatest joy came from spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Libby was an avid softball player, bowler and enjoyed camping, crocheting and cooking. Planning a backyard cookout was her specialty. Her love of travel took her all over the world. Some of her fondest memories were from her many cruises and vacations with family and friends. She was always looking forward to her next adventure. Libby was also a long-time member of the Newark Elks Lodge.

Libby was preceded in death by Frank, her loving husband of 66 years. She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Gooden (Noble) and two sons, Frank Borst, Jr. (Sandy) and Steven Borst (Linda). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Brian Borst, Craig Gooden, Melissa Gooden, Christopher Gooden, Steven Borst, II and thirteen great-grandchildren. Libby will also be missed by her sisters, Mary Love and Dorothy Letson, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 12:30 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy. Newark, DE 19702 with visitation one hour prior. A committal service will follow at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Newark Elks Lodge 2281, 42 Elks Trail, New Castle, DE 19720.
