Gregory J. Kuchak, age 70, of Newark, DE, formerly of Gouldsboro, PA, died at home on Sunday, September 17, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

Greg graduated from Mt. Pocono High School in 1964, The University of Scranton in 1968, and Officer Candidate School becoming a first Lieutenant in the United States Army. He worked as an account manager and senior systems engineer for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) at Continental Life Insurance Company for 25 years and at Provident Mutual/Nationwide Insurance Company for 15 years.

He was the president of the parent teacher association (PTA) at Leasure School, president of Glendale Civic Association, and member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). Greg enjoyed fixing things (jack of all trades), spending time with friends and family at their family vacation home in Bethany beach, camping, fishing, and flea markets. He especially loved spending time with his five grandchildren and all their activities.

He is preceded in death by his father John Kuchak; his mother Rose Lemech-Kuchak; his brothers Larry Kuchak and Tom Kuchak; his brothers in law, Jim Marcinkevich, Joe Marcinkevich, Walter (JR) Marcinkevich, Nick Swaha, and Joe Kokinda. He is survived by his wife Carol of 46 years; his daughters Amy Brennan and Karen Okonowicz (husband Eddie) of Middletown, DE; his grandchildren Emma, Trevor, Audrey, Connor, and Jack; his sister JoAnn Kuchak-Kettner of Potomac MD; his brothers in law, George Kettner, Gus Marcinkevich, and Ron Marcinkevich; his sisters in law, Marlene Swaha and Betty Kokinda; his Aunt Sophie and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima, 801 North DuPont Boulevard, New Castle, Delaware. A Committal Service will follow at Veterans Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, September 24, at 5-7 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware 19702.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, Newark, DE 19711 or Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Rd., Newark, DE 19713 for their much needed services.
