John F. "Jack" Duffy

John F. (Jack) Duffy, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the age of 58 after a long illness. He was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his death.

Born in southeastern, PA in 1959, he was the son to the late Edward J., Sr., and Marie A. Duffy. He is survived by his loving daughter Jillian (Jill) Duffy and her fiancé Steve Wiley, brother Edward J. (Mary Lynn) Duffy, Jr., nieces Kelly (Andre) Summers, Seana Duffy, nephew Edward J. (E. J.) Duffy, III as well as two great nieces Kayla and Kylie Summers.

Jack truly loved and was also loved by many extended family members and close friends and their children who will miss him greatly. Those who knew him considered Jack to be a kind, generous, and overall wonderful person who would do anything for anyone especially in time of need.

Jack graduated from Archmere Academy, Claymont, DE, in 1977 and Cabrini College, Radnor, PA, in 1982. He served on the Executive Council and had been a member of Delaware Crime Stoppers for several years. Past employers include Excel Business Systems, Walgreens, Boscov’s, and Sheridan Ford.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate his life on Saturday, December 23, at 12 noon at the Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702. The Visitation will begin at 11 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory to Delaware Crime Stoppers, P.O. Box 430, Dover, DE 19903, or to Heartland Hospice House of Delaware, 5661 Ochletree Lane, Wilmington, DE, 19808.
