Roscoe Trigg Hahn, Sr., age 92, of Newark, Delaware, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Cadia, Pike Creek, DE 

Roscoe was born in the fall of 1925 in Meadowview, VA the son of John Brown Hahn and Okie Prater where he grew up with his 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Louise Hahn, 6 children, 5 daughters and 1 son.  Diana Raymond - DE, Linda (Benny) Thomas - DE, Elizabeth Redding, PA, Brenda (George) O’Neal - DE, Roscoe Trigg (Penny) Hahn, Jr - DE, and Angie (Joe) Toney - DE. 14 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.  Two sisters, Sylvia Blackwell of Tullahoma, TN and Ella Mae Wells of Petersburg, VA.

He was preceded in death by his Father, John Brown Hahn, Mother, Okie Prater, 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Roscoe Hahn was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Air Force.  He was a combat veteran of WW2, serving as an Infantryman with the U.S. Army’s 102nd Infantry Division in the European theater.  While serving as an Infantryman, Private First Class Hahn, was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in ground combat against an armed enemy.

After WW2, Mr. Hahn volunteered for service with the U.S. Air Force, achieving the Grade of E-5.  He was honorably discharged in 1951 and held humble regard for his time in the military until his passing.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a. m. where a Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a. m.  Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
