Roy "Junior" Atkins

Roy "Junior" Atkins, age 72, of Bear, DE died on October 31, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Junior is survived by his wife Sue of 52 years; three sons, Scott Atkins and his wife Debbie of Elkton, MD, Gary Atkins of Bear, DE, and James "Sonny" Atkins and his wife Genae of Newark, DE; four loving grandchildren, one great grandchild, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Junior was an avid NASCAR fan, loved going to car shows, and showing off his street rod. He was the Vice President of the Diamond State Street Rods. Junior was always generous with his time and talents and was there to help friends and family in any situation.

The funeral service will be held Monday, November 6, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy., Newark, DE where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 am. Junior will be laid to rest in Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christiana Fire Company, 2 E.
