Anne L. Roy

Anne L. Roy, age 94, of Bear, DE, formerly of Claymont, DE died on June 7, 2018.  Anne was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, but was raised in Delaware.

Anne was a graduate of Wilmington High School.  She worked at the DuPont Company and New Castle Air Base during World War II, but after raising her family she went to work at the News Journal, retiring after 18 years of service.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, enjoyed many years attending activities at Sellers Senor Center and enjoyed traveling and dancing.

Anne was pre-deceased by her husband, the love of her life, William J. Roy, Jr. who passed away in 2001, her parents, Thomas and Catherine McCormick (Cullinan), brother Thomas McCormick, and sisters Mary Bergen and Catherine Mumford.

Anne was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She is survived by her daughter Suzanne Sullivan (John), son William J. Roy, III (Martha) and the joys of her life, five grandchildren, Courtney B. Zuleger (Chad), Brendan W. Sullivan, John D. Sullivan, III, Kendall B. Roy and William J. Roy, IV and two great grandchildren, Skylar and Logan Zuleger.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Regal Heights for their exceptional care of their mother, especially Stacy, Monica, Angela and June.
