Charles E. Jackson was born on September 16, 1939 in Sylvania, Georgia to Virgil and Victoria Jackson.
He was baptized in 1950 at the New Light Baptist Church in Wood Cliff, Georgia where he faithfully attended every Sunday until moving to New Jersey in 1957.
Charles, at the age of 23, was inducted in the United States Army on August 10, 1962.
In 1964, he met Sadie D. Sullivan who was the love of his life and would later become his wife on July 14, 1966. From this union they were blessed with twin boys, Charles and Carl.
Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil Jackson, Jr. and Levi Jackson, and three sisters, Rosa Lee Thomas, Gladys Smith and Mildred McCall.
Charles will be missed beyond words. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 52 years, Sadie, sons Charles Jackson Jr. of Florida and Carl Jackson of Texas, one granddaughter Quateekeya Jackson of Pennsville, NJ, six sisters, Grace Williams, Bernice Jackson, Betty Johnson (Eugene), Edna Brown (Ezra), Ruby Jackson, Virginia Kindred (John), one brother Lee Jackson (Emma), 13 nieces, 17 nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware at 10:00 am on Friday June 15, 2018. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with a committal service in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
