Cheryl "Scherry" Eshleman Obituary

Cheryl “Scherry” Glasgow Eshleman, age 73 of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 22, 2019.

Scherry was born in Altamahaw, North Carolina to the late Barrett (Wright) and Fred Glasgow.  Scherry was an extremely loving, caring person who could make friends anytime, anywhere, under any circumstance.  To know her was to love her.  She was selfless and generous to a fault, especially when it came to her grandchildren and those in the disabled community.  Scherry was an inspiration to all who knew her for many reasons.  She served on many political campaigns throughout her years.  More than anything she loved to fish. She was the life of the party wherever she went.  Her smile was infectious and her laugh contagious.

Scherry is predeceased by her parents and daughter, Karen Eshleman Mundell.  She was survived by her sister June K. Tait, dear friend of more than 40 years Geraldine Talley as well as her ex-husband and friend Bill Eshleman.  She was the beloved mother of Gina Maiuri Bell and her husband Sam, Chris Maiuri and his wife Kelly.  She was the treasured Grammy of Cassie, Dylan, Payton, Jacob, Amber and Sammy. She was also the aunt to Dava Newnam, Richard Tait, David Tait Jr., Steve Tait, John Tait, Jackie Leck, Shawn Eshleman, Ryan Eshleman and their families.

Please join us in Scherry’s Life Celebration.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday July 5, 2019 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702 where friends and family may visit beginning at 10:00 am.  There will be a private Facebook Live stream of the service for those who cannot attend in person beginning at 10:55 am.  Private message Gina Maiuri Bell on Facebook for more information.
