Eugene Petito Obituary

Eugene N. Petito, age 86, of Newark, Delaware, passed away  peacefully at home on Monday, February 26, 2018.

A native of New York, he was born in the winter of 1931. Eugene joined in the Air Force and spent 22 years serving his country through the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He then had a second career working for Hercules in the engineering department for 21 years. Eugene enjoyed playing cards, watching tennis, traveling, spending time with his family, and attending church at Holy Family. He was a huge animal lover and greatly missed his dog Pebble, who passed away years ago. Eugene was very outgoing and made friends wherever he went. He especially enjoyed dining out.

Eugene was predeceased by his parents Rose and Camillo, his seven brothers, and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Winsome Ann Petito, his children Julie (Roger), Linda, John (Susan), and Kenneth, grandchildren Jeffrey, Jaclyn (Brooks), James (Amanda), Jillian, and Jonathan, great grandchildren, Tyler, Samantha, Colton, Bo, Caleb, and Cameron, and several nephews and nieces.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark DE 19702. The Visitation hours will take place on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Thursday morning from 10 am to 12 Noon at the funeral home. The Committal Service will take place at 2 pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.
