Fletcher Carl Truitt

Fletcher C. Truitt, Jr., age 77, of Middletown, DE, formerly of Newark, DE, died Monday, October 16, 2017 at Christiana Hospital.

Fletcher graduated from Newark High School, class of 1958.

He was employed for over 28 years as a chemical operator, material handler, and fork-lift driver at ICI Americas, Atlas Point Plant, as well as, a member of the Iron Workers Union. He was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge.

Fletcher was an avid sports fan. He loved all levels of play from high school to professional. His favorite teams were the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and 76'ers. He coached Newark American Little League and Capital Trail Football. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.
He was predeceased by his wife Patricia L. Truitt, his father and mother Fletcher, Sr., Katherine Truitt, and his sister Judy Rice (Truitt).

Fletcher is survived by his brother Richard Truitt (Carol), his three sons Michael (Suzanne), Keith (Susan), and Brian Truitt (Deanna LaBella), and his grandchildren Emilee, Molly, Jackson, Natalie, Audrey.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 12 noon at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702 where friends may call from 10 am to 12 noon. The Committal service will immediately follow the viewing at 1 pm at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
