Floyd Peffley, passed away on October 4, 2018, at the age of 87 years.
Floyd was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and spent most of his childhood in Ventnor, New Jersey before beginning a career in the United States Navy at the age of 17. He served on a variety of ships during the Korean War and the early part of the Vietnam War, including the USS Missouri. After his Naval career he moved to Delaware where he lived the rest of his life, with his wife Loretta and his family.
Floyd was known as a generous person. Everyone leaves a legacy of one sort or another. Other than his family, Floyd’s legacy is in the lives of the many individuals struggling with substance abuse he helped over the years, including other veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Loretta, his daughter, Susan June, his son, Jim, and eight grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.
According to his wishes, the service and his burial will be private.
