Howard Leedom Obituary

Howard W. Leedom, age 70, passed away early Saturday May 11, 2019 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. Howard was a widower to his best friend Linda Joan (May 2017). He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. At the age of 17, Howard joined the U.S. Army where he achieved the rank of Private First Class and served his country during the Vietnam War from 1966 - 1969. After his military service concluded, Howard spent the majority of his career working as a printer. He was a member of his local church and regularly attended men's groups.

Howard is survived by his 3 children: Jesse Leedom (Lorraine), Betty Jo Vreeland (Ken), and Carrie Mistler (Joseph), his sisters Lois Eisenstein, Cindy Witt, and Millie Weirts. Howard enjoyed spending time with his multiple grandchildren, nieces and nephews all of which he adored. He was predeceased by his sister Jessie Shavers.
 

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at Ogletown Baptist Church, 316 Red Mill Road, Newark DE 19713 where friends may call at 10:30 am. The Committal Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE. Friends may also call on Monday May 20, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark DE, 19702.
