Louis LaCorte Obituary

On January 17, 2020, loving son, husband, father, and friend, Louis John LaCorte of Bear, Delaware, passed into the gentle arms of his Lord at the age of 80 years.

Louis is survived by his wife Millie (Torres), son Gerald John, daughter Jennifer Ann and sister Geraldine (LaCorte) Gallagro.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, of Gerolomo and Jennie (Accardi) LaCorte, Louis lived a life filled with love and integrity.  He and Millie Torres were joined in marriage in 1962 and enjoyed 58 years as husband and wife.  Louis proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Radioman Cryptographer between the years of 1962 to 1968.  He then became the proud father of his and Millie’s two children, Gerald and Jennifer, while completing his degree in industrial engineering from Farleigh Dickinson University in 1972.

Following a full career characterized by an impeccable work ethic, Louis retired and enjoyed many hours sailing the Chesapeake Bay.  His fondest activities in later life included playing shofar for his synagogue, Beit Ha Torah, baking the world’s most delicious bread, and relaxing with his three cats.

All family, friends, and guests are welcome to gather for visitation on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE beginning at 2:00 pm.  A short service will follow at 3:00 pm.
