Lucinda L Almeida

Lucinda Almeida, age 83, passed away at home on October 15, 2019, surrounded by the love of her family.  Lucinda was born on January 13, 1936 in Colmeal, Portugal.   She was united in marriage to Henrique Almeida on September 12, 1954 in Lisbon, Portugal.  They moved to the U.S. and lived most of their marriage in Barrington, N.J. before moving to Bear, DE. in 2000.   Henrique preceded her in death on September 24, 2012. 

A loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, Lucinda is survived by her son, Joseph Almeida, and his wife Christy of Hockessin, DE. and two granddaughters, Devon (fiancé Vincent) and Caitlin.  Lucinda was also blessed with many loving friends who appreciated her unending kindness and caring for others.  She will be missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to visit on October 21, 2019 from 11am – 12pm at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE 19702, where a funeral mass will follow at 12pm.  Private burial (family) will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.
