Marie A. (Jara) Nickle

Marie A. (Jara) Nickle, 91, of Worcester, MA formally from Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2019.  She was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Louis and Marie Jara and was the oldest of 9 siblings.  

During her lifetime she worked at many places including Gaylords, Tower Hill School and Atlantic Aviation.  She was also a medical secretary in a doctor’s office and security guard at a power plant.  She was an active member of the VFW both in volunteer work and in leadership. An avid card player she enjoyed poker, pinochle and rummy.  Her favorite activity was crocheting and she donated many hats to the V.A. and state of Delaware and received a Presidential award for her many hours of work.

Marie was predeceased by her husband, Wesley W. Nickle.  She is survived by four children, William Nickle of Fort Myers FL, Theresa Brozefsky of Milford DE, John Nickle of Illinois and Wesley Nickle of Shrewsbury MA, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

A committal service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday November 15, 2019 at Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
