Marion LaRock Obituary

Marion Elizabeth (Bainbridge) LaRock of Lady Lake, FL passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Saturday May 5, 2018. Marion was a longtime resident of Glenville, Stanton DE and Bear, DE before moving to Florida in 2014.

Marion was born in Conyngham, PA to the late Edward & Thelma (Miller) Bainbridge. She grew up in Drums, PA, graduating from Hazleton High School in 1945 working for Lauderbaughs Shoe Store and the family business, Bainbridge Electric & Gas, before marrying and moving to Delaware in 1957. She was a member of St. Phillips Lutheran Church.

Along with raising her family, Marion worked at JCPenney’s before her retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her husband John, socializing and baking for her family and friends. Marion was an avid reader and loved sitting on her deck with her best buddy, Nikki the cat.

Along with her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, John Vincent LaRock and brother Thomas Nelson Bainbridge. Marion is survived by her 2 sons Edward John LaRock and his wife Mary Jo Stark of Denver, CO and Mark John LaRock and his wife Terry Rinehimer LaRock of The Villages, FL, 2 granddaughters, Melanie Markel (Robert) and Danielle Weber(Steve), 4 great grandchildren, Brianna, Collin, Brandon and Taylor, sisters-in-law Donna Bainbridge and Emma LaRock, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 12 Noon at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway,  Newark, DE 19702. The Visitation will begin at 11am at the funeral home. The Committal Service will be held at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11 am.
