Mildred Genevieve Habiger Obituary

Mildred Genevieve Proud Habiger, 91, of Rose Hill left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Saturday, September 1, 2018.

She was born on March 22, 1927 in New Castle, Delaware and was the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred Daniels Proud. She was also predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Stanley Ray Habiger, Sr. and two brothers, Edward Proud and Richard Proud.

Mildred is survived by her devoted children, Stanley Ray Habiger, Jr. and wife Judy of Newark, Delaware, Shelley Hall and husband, Wade of Rose Hill, Sandra Bartus and husband, Dale of Elkton, Maryland and Stewart Ross Habiger and wife Kimberly of San Tan Valley, Arizona; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and numerous extended family that loved Mildred dearly.

Mildred was a loving mother and caring grandmother and sister who loved her family dearly. She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace; and to those who knew her, “an instrument of God’s love on this earth.” Mildred was a friend to all, a strong yet gentle presence who looked for and encouraged the best in everyone. She was a shoulder upon whom many found comfort and support. Mildred will surely be missed but cherished memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 10:30am to 11:30am on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy., Newark, DE 19702. A funeral service will begin at 11:30am and interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
