Pauline Waldridge, age 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 10, 2019. Pauline was born in 1935 in Elkton, Maryland and was one of twenty-one children. Pauline was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was united in marriage to Robert Waldridge for sixty-two years before his death on February 15, 2014. They lived most of their married life in Newark, Delaware.
During her lifetime she worked hard to make sure her family was taken care of in every way. She showed her love by her acts of service such as cleaning, cooking, and gift giving to her many family members. She was greatly valued at the University of Delaware for her tireless work to make sure it was a safe and clean place to work and learn.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Flossie Pinson of Bear, Delaware and Teresa Manko and her husband Robert Manko of Townsend, Delaware. She was a beloved grandmother to Robert Waldridge, Allen Waldridge, Rebecca Doherty, Charlie Couyou, Jonathan Pinson, Jeremy Pinson, Richard Couyou and to her grandchildren-in-law Joshua Doherty and Christina Pinson. She was a loving great-grandmother to her twelve great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by many special siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held at St. George’s Cemetery, 4320 Kirkwood St. Georges Road, St. Georges, DE at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019. The service will be officiated by Richard Irwin, a minister for Jehovah’s Witnesses.
