Roberta A. Steele

Roberta “Bobby” Steele, age 87, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 23, 2019. She was a loving wife, mother, mom-mom, and sister.  She enjoyed helping people, spending time with her family and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved country music, playing the guitar, dancing, word puzzles, watching her favorite television shows and singing (especially yodeling).  She will be deeply missed by her family.

Roberta is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, John Steele Sr., children John Steele Jr. (Kim), Edith Merced (Ralph), Jacob Steele, Shirley Olson (Steven) and Roberta Prazzo (Lonnie), Brian Tuxward, John W. Tuxward , 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  She is also survived by her siblings Annie Fleming, Shirley Watson, Evelyn Beverage, Pearl Hagmier, Ruth Myrtle Baldwin, Vaughn Watson and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Myrtle Watson, children Jerry Steele, Howard Tuxward and Hope Brown, grandchildren Jessica Ann Steele, Donald Caulk Jr. and Amanda Parson, daughter-in-law Carol Tuxward, siblings Jimmy Walker, Adeline Nichols, Joseph Watson and Edwin Watson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday December 2, 2019 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware where friends may call beginning at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Highway, New Castle, Delaware, 19720.
