Sue Ellen (Kious) Jones

Sue Ellen Jones (nee Kious), 73, of Bear, Delaware died at her home on May 26, 2019. 

She was born in Bloomington, Illinois and raised in Murphreesboro, Tennessee.  Sue Ellen attended Middle Tennessee State University for two years before transferring to Eastern Illinois University where she graduated with a BA in education.  She taught elementary students in Clinton, Illinois for ten years before concentrating her energies on raising her three sons.

Sue Ellen held the family together through moves to upstate New York, New Jersey, and finally Delaware as her husband pursued his career in nuclear power plant construction and maintenance.  After settling down in Delaware, she retired from her new occupation as a customer service representative for Discover Card.  She enjoyed travel and made time each year to spend a week in the Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia and two weeks in her beloved Outer Banks of North Carolina. 

She is survived by her husband John Paul Jones and her sons, Christopher W., Jeffery A. and John D. Jones.

A Memorial Service will be held at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware on Wednesday June 5, 2019 at 11:00 am where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 am.
