Wayne Allen Matthews

Wayne Allen Matthews, age 70, of Dover, DE, formerly of Bear, DE, died on January 5, 2018 at his residence.

Wayne graduated from Upland High School. He was a pipefitter for the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Wayne enjoyed playing pool and being with his friends. He also enjoyed watching classic car shows, sports, and going to Farmers Markets.

He is predeceased by his mother, Ruth Schlozhauer Matthews and his father, Albert Matthews.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Susan Matthews of Dover, DE, his brother, Larry Matthews of Boothwyn, PA, his sisters, Cheryl Matthews of Boothwyn, PA, and Fayette Boyer of Florida.

A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
