Agnes E. Outten, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the Hospice Unit in Christiana Hospital. She was a faithful witness of Jehovah to the end. Agnes was born in Coaldale PA, the daughter of Leon and Agnes Kleckner.
Agnes is survived by her four children: Robin Outten (Mary), Jill Kirk (Fran), Kimberly Castonguay (Jeff), Darrin Outten (Barbara). Ten grandchildren: Katrina Andrews, Jonathan Outten, Amber Pagano (Steve), Garrett Visnansky (Michelle), Tiffany Knight (Tony), Kelsey Bradley (Tyler), Joshua Outten, Stephanie Hemm (Andrew), Kaylie White (Bryson), Nicole Outten; Sixteen great-grandchildren; brother Brian Kleckner, sister in law Lynda Koethe and many good friends from the Kingdom Hall. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, brother Leon, husband Jim and daughter Suzanne.
Agnes owned Agnes School of Dance and worked as a dance instructor until her health would not allow her to dance anymore. She then became a school bus driver for the Red Clay School district until she retired. Agnes enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren & great grandchildren who knew her as Mom-Mom. Agnes loved spending time with her family at Indian Acres and her beloved Wildwood where she loved to people watch and ride the tram. Agnes enjoyed flowers/gardening, but her biggest enjoyment came from her many animals she owned/rescued over the years.
The family would like to thank all of the Hospice nurses/aides that helped make her last days comfortable. Especially want to thank Agnes’s regular Hospice nurse Jameel who she looked forward to seeing every week.
The family invites all who knew her to a time of visitation, which will will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home.
