Annmarie Dranchack O'Hara

Annmarie Dranchak O’Hara, age 85, passed away at her home in Middletown, Delaware on June 14, 2022.

From 1957 to 1967, Ann traveled with her husband, who was in the military.  She worked in Rhode Island, Florida, and Delaware until finally making Delaware her permanent home.  She worked at Christiana Care in oncology until she retired in 1991.  Six months after retiring, she opened a bridal shop with her husband.  After his death in 1995, she returned to nursing and began working with Christiana VNA “Living with Cancer Program”.  In 2004 she decided to close the business and devote all of her attention to serving cancer patients.  During this time the doctors called her “St. Ann” and her patients called her “Rambo.”  She retired from VNA in 2010.

Ann is predeceased by her husband Gerard O’Hara, her sister Joan Kovach, and her oldest child Annmarie Wipf O’Hara.  She is survived by daughter Geriann O’Hara and son Michael O’Hara and his wife Carol (Carty).

A Celebration of Ann’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702, where visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will be private.
