Betty J. (Lovegrove) Piekarski

Betty J. Piekarski, 88, of Bear, DE passed away peacefully on December 23, 2019, at home in the light of the Christmas tree.

Betty, a mom and mom mom, was born in 1931 in Smyrna, Delaware to John and Gertrude Lovegrove.  She dreamed of becoming a model, attending a local modeling school and pageants.  Look Magazine was going to follow her career in NYC, but circumstances did not allow for that to happen.

In 1955, Mom married our Dad, Charles Richard and moved to Bear, Delaware.  Mom became the ultimate homemaker, caring first for family and home, but always finding time for coffee and gab sessions with her Glendale besties.

Waiting for her in heaven are her husband Charles Richard Piekarski, her parents John Jr. and Gertrude Lovegrove, her brother John E. Lovegrove, III and her son-in-law Michael Slayman along with many other family members and coffee friends.

Left to cherish her memory and share her stories are her daughters, Pamela L. Compton and husband George, and Laura L. Slayman and three grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas and Christopher who were her greatest blessings in life,

A viewing will be held at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware 19702 on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, followed by a brief service.  Burial will be private.
