Beverly M. Bishop, age 86, of Bear, DE passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on July 6th, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Beverly was born to the late William Manning and Elva (Warner) Manning of Levittown, NY. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Bishop, her brother, Bill Manning, and her grandson, Nicholas James Webb.
Beverly is survived by her daughter Donna Bishop-Forman (Scott), daughter Tammy Cannatelli (Mike), and son Phillip Bishop (Rachael); 5 grandchildren: Nathan Webb (Joy), Natalie Brown (Todd), Jim Cannatelli, Caleb Bishop, and Isaac Bishop; 5 great-grandchildren: Frederick, Nathaniel, Dakota, Magnolia, and Billy; as well as many extended family members.
Beverly was a loving military wife, devoted Mom and a wonderful Mamaw. She was a dedicated and active member of the Southern Baptist community. Throughout her life, Beverly enjoyed traveling extensively around the world and split her time each year between her residence in Delaware and her second home in Tampa, Florida. She was also a passionate sports fan, with a particular fondness for NASCAR and her Philadelphia teams.
She was known to all for her incredible strength, loyalty, humor, and generosity. Her memory will remain in the hearts of the many who knew her, and her impact will not be forgotten.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 10-11:00 am at Beeson Funeral Home of Newark, 2053 Pulaski Hwy (Route 40), Newark, DE 19702, followed by a memorial service at 11: 00 am. A private interment will take place at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Beverly requested that donations be made in her memory to Delaware Hospice (https://delawarehospice.org/give/) or to your favorite local animal shelter.
