Charles Thomas Allen

Charles Thomas Allen, known to all as Tom, was a loving and devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather.   He fought a short battle with cancer and passed away at Seasons Hospice Care at Christiana Hospital on Sunday afternoon August 2, 2020. 

Tom served in the U. S. Army from 1968-1971, serving in Vietnam.  He was a valued design engineer for DuPont and their successors at the Glasgow site and retired from Siemens in 2015. 

He is survived by his loving wife Linda, brother Frederic (Carol), son Tom Jr. (Christy), daughters Rebecca “Becky” (Ben Lewis) and Heather (Daniel Meza). He was grandfather to Mya, Declan, London, Aiden, and Ian, whom he loved so much and there was nothing greater to him as being a grandfather. He was predeceased by his son Eric (Laini) and parents Robert P. and Marie C. Allen. 

A memorial service will be held from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursday August 13, 2020 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy., Newark, DE where friends may call from 3:00 to 4:00.  A committal service will be held at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
