Christina Louise Gommer

Christina Louise Gommer, age 43, of Newark, DE passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 at home.

In her freshman to junior year of high school, Chrissy attended Hodgson Vo-Tech in Newark, DE, where she studied dental assisting.  She graduated in 1997 from William Penn High School in New Castle, DE.

While in high school, Chrissy was a hostess at Lone Star Steak House in New Castle, DE.  From 1997 to 1999, she worked in collections at Discover Card, then Household Bank until 2003. She married Robert Gommer of Newark, DE and after the birth of twins, she returned to the work force at Sallie Mae performing collection for student and government loans. She and Robert decided it was best for her to leave the stress of collections and become a stay at home Mom to focus on family. 

Chrissy was a member of the Phillies Fan Club for added enjoyment for her children and was a full time member of Mom Needs a Nap Club.  She enjoyed music, concerts, Phillies games and photography.

Chrissy is preceded in death by her mother, Stella M. Simpson Caldwell.  She is survived by her husband Robert Gommer, her children, Jonathan, Jacob, Nicholas and Olivia Gommer; her father, Roland Caldwell; and her siblings, Michael, Sean and Rebecca Caldwell.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 2 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702, where visitation will begin at 1pm.  Burial will be held at a later date to be determined in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
