Claude K. Mitchell, Jr.

Claude Keith Mitchell, Jr., age 63, of Elkton, MD, passed away on February 6, 2025 in Elkton.

Claude graduated from James H. Groves Adult High School in 1980. He was baptized at Newark United Methodist Church on Main Street in Newark, DE and was confirmed as an adult member of that same church. In 1993, he married his wife, Margaret, there as well.

Claude is preceded in death by his wife: Margaret Mitchell; mother: Barbara Mitchell; brothers: Dan and Shawn Mitchell; grandparents: Felix and Helena Mitchell, Salvatore Rampolla, and Carol Ward; uncles: John Mitchell, Steve Osbourne, and Tony Ward; aunts: Bertie Carrow, Kay Parsons, and Ann Pedrick. He was especially close to his late great grandmother: Augusta Clay and his great aunt: Eva Bradbury.

Claude is survived by his son: Claude K. Mitchell, III; father: Claude K. Mitchell, Sr.; brothers: Michael and Martin Mitchell; sister-in-law: Jacqualynn; four nephews: Ryan Christopher, Benjamin, and Morgan; his beloved aunt: Elizabeth (Ward) Gellens; uncle: Frank Mitchell; and many cousins.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 10:30-11:30 am at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. Interment will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE following the service.
