Doris Marion Moulton, age 90 of Claymont, DE, passed peacefully in her sleep on October 5, 2021, after residing for the last 3 years as a resident of Lore Village Memory Care at The Lorelton in Wilmington, Delaware.
Born and raised in Wilmington, Doris was the daughter of the late Fred Martine and Mary Louise Beeson and the sister of the late William Earl Martine. She touched the lives of so many people with her bright, contagious smile, her love of music and compassion for those in need.
Doris worked enthusiastically and tirelessly for over 25 years as a volunteer and then FT employee at the Easter Seals Society of Delaware, Coordinator of the Delaware Chapter Stroke Club and Director of Delaware Epilepsy Association; retiring in 1996. Doris continued her work as a volunteer and served on several Professional Advisory Boards as well as being a member of the Junior Board at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. Doris was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 1992 and the Mrs. Delaware Pageant Spirit award for Outstanding Service in 1995. Last, but certainly not least, Doris was most active in her community service as a volunteer for over 40 years with the Wilmington Flower Market, serving as Head Chairman in 1979.
Doris’ many gifts included her beautiful soprano voice. She was active in church choirs (Hillcrest UMC and Atonement UMC), the Grace Notes and countless solos for the weddings of dear friends and families. Her loss will be felt deep and wide, though her spirit will live forever in song and praise!
Doris was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Charles W. Moulton and son Keith W. Moulton. She is survived by daughters Victoria Dmytrus and husband Daniel, and Cynthia Wright and husband Jeffrey; 4 grandchildren: Jacqueline and Christina Dmytrus, Alexander and Natalie Wright. Doris was also blessed with 3 great-grandchildren, Alyanna, Dominic Joseph and Olivia.
Relatives and friends are invited to join in her Life Celebration. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with service at 11:00 am on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Church of the Atonement UMC, 3519 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.
