Dorothy (Dottie) Brown

Dorothy Brown, age 97, of Bear, Delaware, passed away Friday evening, August 26, 2022 with her husband and family by her side.

Dorothy was born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1925, daughter of the late Walter and Anna May Reid.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Cecil William Wright.

Dorothy worked in retail and retired from Sears in 1985.  In her younger years she had a passion for roller skating and had a love for cats her entire life.  She always had one or more furbabies close by.  Her biggest joy was spending time with her family.  She loved going on vacation, especially to Disney World with her family each year and talked about the trips and the wonderful memories often.

Dorothy was survived by her loving husband of 60 years Robert (Bob) Brown, her son Thomas Ward of Newark and daughter Cynthia Brown (Robert) of Bear.  Referred to as Mom Mom, she leaves behind her grandchildren Amie Wright (daughter Emily), Gina Roberts (sons Bryce and Caleb and daughter Addilyn), Thomas Ward (sons Gaige, Isaiah and Peyton), Crystal Ward (sons Talan, Tristan, Noah and Sylas), Jason Ward (daughter Sophie), Robert Shaub, Jordyn Ward (son Ethan).

A private memorial will be held for Dorothy.  In lieu of flowers please send a donation in Dorothy Brown’s name to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
