Obituary

Dorothy June (Carrico) Oliveri, age 89, of Glasgow, DE, passed away on March 4, 2023 at her home with her husband and sons by her side.

Dorothy was a retired military wife who traveled worldwide with her spouse and two sons.

She attended two years of college at the University of Delaware prior to her marriage to her husband, Michael. She was a member of the Officer Wives Club who worked to support Vietnam family members in the Tokyo, Japan area, military hospitals, and R & R locations.

Dorothy worked as a professional ballroom dance teacher for the Arthur Murray Studio of Wilmington, DE. In the 1950’s, she performed exhibition dances during Arthur Murray Television Broadcasts at the Waldorf Astoria in New York, NY.

She was also very active in U.S.O functions and activities including Airman’s Lending Locker and assisting the Red Cross during the March 1964 earthquake in Anchorage, AK while stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base.

Dorothy is survived by her husband: Michael “Mike” F. Oliveri of Glasgow, DE and Havre-De-Grace, MD; sons: Michael Anthony “Tony” Oliveri (Kathy) of New Jersey and Dominick “Nick” James Oliveri (Cheri) of Plantation, FL; grandchildren: Jessica and Michael; and her best friends: Linda Crossland, Robin Crossland, Carol Lee, Eilene Muller, Caroll Jaques, and Ogretta Miller of Spring Hill, FL - all original members of the Cann Road Ladies Club
