Douglas R. Willis Jr, 72 yrs old, of Delta, PA died on June 15, 2021 at Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Care Center in Mount Joy, PA.
Douglas is predeceased by his daughter Angel Willis, parents Mary C. Erhart (Bill) previously of New Castle, DE and Douglas R. Willis Sr. (Cynthia) previously of New Castle, DE and sister Deborah Oliver (Brad) previously of Bear, DE.
He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Willis, children Rhonda C. Knapp of Livingston, LA and Douglas R. Willis, III (Kasie) of Elkton, MD; grandchildren Carra L. Rydel (Chasady) of O'Fallon, MO; Katie Henry (Jordan) of Cleveland, IL; Dylan C. Rydel of Lebanon, TN; Samuel R. Willis of Fair Hill, PA; Austin R. Rydel (Trinity) of Delta, PA; great-grandchildren Arianna and Anthony McDowell of O'Fallon, MO and brothers James R. Willis, Sr. (Sharon) of Wilmington, DE; Mitchell W. Willis, Sr. (Mary) of Middletown, DE and Lewis (Skeeter) Willis of Wilmington, DE; and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Douglas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He loved being with his family. He especially loved playing army and video games with his grandchildren. He loved watching his old western and military movies, wrestling, the history channel, Chicago PD and SVU. His favorite snacks were Herr's sour cream and onion chips and chocolate covered cherries. He loved going fishing.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday June 25, 2021 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702 with a viewing beginning at 11:00 am.
A luncheon will be held following the service at La Casa Pasta, 120 Four Seasons Pkwy, Newark, DE 19702. Please let us know at 225-892-9168 if you can attend so we can get a head count.
A Committal Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday July 9, 2021 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware 19701.
