Douglas Zill Obituary

Douglas G. Zill (Doug), 58, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, where he was surrounded by his loving family and will be missed beyond explanation. Doug was born in Baltimore MD, and moved to Delaware, where he successfully graduated from Glasgow High School, and continued his life journey to Middletown, DE, where he resided with his wife and children. Douglas G. Zill is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Juanita Zill, son Karl Raichle (fiancé Erica Pratz), daughter Morgan Zill, granddaughters Mariah Raichle and Sara Widdoes, siblings Charmaine Levie (Dan), Michael Dison (Yetta), and Michelle Morrow (Jim) and his 3 adoring fur babies Libby, Bella and Turbo. To know Doug, was to love him. He was adored by all, and his dry humor was nothing short of legendary. Family gatherings will never be the same, as he always brought smiles and laughter to all around. Doug had a great passion for the outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crabbing, which always led to family feasts around the table after a hard, yet fun day of work! In addition to his passion for hunting, Doug appreciated the art of taxidermy and enjoyed it as a very rewarding hobby throughout his life. Doug was a true artist in replicating a life-like appearance and producing beautiful keepsakes and displays for other passionate outdoorsmen like himself. Doug was preceded in death by his father, John P. Zill, mother, Mary Anne Bragg and stepfather, “Tex” Bragg, in addition to his brothers, Glenn and Jack Zill. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702 on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 11:00am until 12:00pm where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00pm.
