Earnest A. Carrere (Ba Ba) age 91 of Bear, Delaware passed away on December 24, 2023 in the presence of his family.
Earnie was born in1932 in Dehue, WV to Joseph and Marianne Carrere.
He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Earnie was a great softball player, playing for GM for many years. He was a little league coach, civic association president, owned a catering business, and was the retiree chairman at Local 435 for many years. He will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by his family.
He was predeceased by two brothers: William and Charlie and five sisters: Josephine, Lena, Maggie, Catherine, and Virginia. Earnie is survived by his loving wife Patricia of 65 years and his twin brother William (Ghi Ghi) and sister Aileen. He is also survived by his five children, Joe (Bonnie), Nancy, Tim (Jen), Kelly (David), and Ginny, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702 on Friday January 5, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm with service to follow at 1:30 pm. A Committal Service will be held privately in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
