Elaine Scott Malin, age 90, of Bear, Delaware and formerly of State College, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 23, 2024 at Wilmington Skilled Nursing Facility Wilmington, Delaware.
Elaine was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from Centenary Junior College (now Centenary College) in Hackettstown, New Jersey in 1954.
Elaine was an administrative assistant for Pennsylvania State University for many years. At one time, she worked for eight minor sports coaches simultaneously. She worked for soccer coaches Bahr and Gorman, wrestling coaches Fritzand Lorenzo, fencing coach Kaidanov, and many others.
In her early years at Penn State, she was involved with the Penn State Wrestling Club. She even has a paragraph dedicated to her in the Wrestling Club book "A Century of Penn State Wrestling." She was an avid gardener and she enjoyed Penn State's live theatre productions. She had a golden retriever as well as several cats and she loved them all.
Elaine is survived by her brothers: William and Richard of New Jersey; her daughter: Suzanne (Terry) of Delaware; her daughter: Elizabeth of Pennsylvania; her granddaughters: Nicole of Maryland, Ashley, Julia, and Sarah of Pennsylvania; her great granddaughter: Hailey of Maryland; as well as nieces: Peggy, Kelly, Kathy, and nephew: Peter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 5:00 pm at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Pkwy, State College, Pennsylvania 16801.
