Eleanor Theresa (Maciunas) Orzechowski

Eleanor Theresa Orzechowski of Wilmington, Delaware and formerly of Northeast Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023.

Eleanor was a graduate of Hallahan High School. After graduation, she worked as a sales associate at Robinson’s Gift Shop and then as a Bank Clerk at Prime Bank.

Eleanor was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Wilmington, DE and prior to that was a longtime member of St. William Parish in Lawncrest in Northeast Philadelphia. She was also a member of the Sellers Senior Center, where she loved playing pinochle with her husband, Anthony.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Orzechowski and her brother, Charles Maciunas.

She is survived by her daughters: Mary Lynn Orzechowski and Donna Smentkowski (Edward) and her grandchildren: Anthony, Elena, and Amanda; with whom she spent many wonderful years in her home in Wilmington and at the shore in Wildwood Crest.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 10-11:00 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 4701 Weldin Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary  Church at 11:00 am. Burial will be private at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
