Emilee Griffin

Emilee Griffin departed her life on June 14, 2020.  She was born in 1939 in Johnsonville, SC, the daughter of Marie Belin and Gene Brooks. She was raised by her grandparents, Hemingway and Elvira Lewis. 

Emilee was educated in the Plainfield, NJ public school system and later attended Middlesex County College where she earned her Associate’s Degree.  She began her accounting career at Chubb Insurance.  After years of working as an accountant in the insurance industry, Emilee retired from Continental Insurance in the early ‘90s.

Emilee married Nixon Griffin, Sr. in the late 1950’s. Family always came first in Emilee’s life.  She had three boys and was a special and devoted mother to them and would do anything to make them happy.  She had a real passion for cooking for her family and could make just about anything from scratch.

Emilee leaves her family to cherish her memories.  She is survived by son Nixon and his wife Dorit, son Michael Griffin, son Nelson Griffin, mother Marie Belin, two special sisters Nita and Shirley, brother Roy Belin Jr., very special cousins Lou Williams, Willamay Dollard, Cindy Lou Williams and Jackie Gates and a very special family friend, Jennifer Hammond.  She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren Michelle, Natanya, Yuval and Doron and great grandchildren Nyiha and Breanna.

Funeral Services will be private at Beeson Funeral Home on Wednesday June 24, 2020 at 12:00 pm where the family will visit beginning at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
