Frank Webb Obituary

Frank Maury Webb, a longtime Delawarean and Dupont Company retiree passed away on November 27.  Mr. Webb, 92, was born in West Palm Beach Florida in 1930.

He graduated from Lake Wales High School in 1948 and went on to Duke University studying for a Bachelor of Science Degree.  Graduating from Duke in 1952, he enlisted in the Navy serving two years and earning the rank of LTJG (Lieutenant Junior Grade). In September of 1955, he married Nancy May Ennis and moved to Wilmington Delaware to pursue a Master of Science degree at the University of Delaware.  He started with Dupont Company, Chambers Works campus in New Jersey, retiring in 1991.  Frank and Nancy started out in Kynlyn Apartments in Wilmington and their firstborn, a son came along in 1957.  Just after moving to a big white house in Lindamere in 1959, their second child, Allison was born, followed by Sandy in 1961 and Charles in 1963.

The house in Lindamere was within walking distance of Calvary Episcopal Church.  The church was to become the center of their family and universe for a long time to come.  Both Frank and Nancy served on the vestry, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.  Frank was a member of the local Lions club and volunteered at Hagley Museum and Wilmington Seamans Center.  He was proud of his performance with the Brandywiners of the Gilbert and Sullivan HMS Pinafore.  He worked hard to maintain his home and his family as the years went by.  He loved musicals, Classical music, puzzles and good food.

Frank leaves his children, John Webb (Suzie), Allison Ball (Gary), Sandra Kece, and Charles Webb (Dodie) with their cherished memories.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Amanda, Annabelle, Christopher and Matthew.  The family wishes to thank many good friends, new and old and healthcare workers who helped care for Frank.
