Gary C. Gicker

Gary C. Gicker, age 79 of Bear, DE passed away suddenly on Monday, August 29, 2022.

He was born in Wilmington, son of the late Edyth (Suppe) and J. Allen Gicker.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, of 57 years and his daughters Brenda Schaen (Burt) and Kim Gicker (Bud Maguire) and his three grandchildren Kayla, Brandon and Tyler Schaen.

Gary retired from DuPont, Edgemoor after 36 years as a mason.  While retired he started his own custom fishing rod building and repair business. Through the business he was able to share his love of fishing with his customers who usually ended up as friends. This also provided him with an outlet to tell many of his fishing stories!

Gary had many hobbies including hunting, fishing and growing a large garden which he shared with family and friends. He never missed any sporting games that his grandchildren participated in such as softball, baseball, soccer, field hockey, football and horseback riding.

Gary was always happy and tried to make sure that everyone around him felt the same way by either singing, whistling or telling one of his many, many jokes!

But more then anything else he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was the best husband, Dad, Pop, Father-in-law, Uncle and friend!

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702.
