James William Dandy, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 9, 2026. James, or Jim as he was known, was a graduate of the University of Detroit for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He retired from IBM, Loral and Lockheed Martin after a busy career as program manager and liaison between the government and his organizations. Jim enjoyed being with his family, spending time in his workshop on various wood projects, soccer and a good fire (or firepit). He was a member of the International Wood Collector Society, Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, Fraternity of Engineers and the Ford Motor Country Rifle Club.
Jim is survived by his wife Constance, his sister Diane (Bob); his three children and their spouses: James (Amy), Debbie (Mark) and Scott (Carrie); and his grandchildren: Jason, Maggie, Joe, Catherine, Jack, Alex, Rachel (Jordan), and Bobby (Reagan).
A viewing will be held Monday, March 23, 2026 from 10-11:00 am St. Margaret’s of Scotland, 2431 Frazer Rd in Newark, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be private at a later date.
