John Way Bilson, Sr. age 74, of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on July 2, 2022 after a long illness.
Born in Chester, Pennsylvania and raised in Brookhaven, John was the son of the late Morris and Helen Bilson. He graduated from Sun Valley High School in 1966 and received machinist training in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. John went on to become proficient in HVAC technology and held several positions at Thiokol, Honeywell and Foulk Manor Nursing Home. John was happiest working in his garden or sitting in a boat with a fishing rod in his hand. He enjoyed hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
John is survived by Mary Ann Bilson, his wife of 41 years, sons John Jr. (Julia), Michael (Maria) and Anthony, grandchildren Diana, Brandon, Nicolas and Elijah, brother Morris (Beth), brother in law Kevin McMenamin and sister in law Karen Bilson. He was predeceased by sister Marlene McMenamin and brother Robert Bilson.
A graveside service will be held at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware 19808, on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 2:00pm.
