John Joseph Fabian, age 79, of Newark, Delaware passed away on December 13, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. John was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey in 1945 to John Joseph Fabian and Cynthia Fabian (Ackley). In his youth, John enjoyed athletics including playing in organized football and baseball. John served our Country proudly in the United States Navy in active duty from 1963 to 1967 and the naval reserves from 1967 to 1969. Subsequent to his military service, John had a long career within the news industry as a technician at the Courier Post (NJ), USA Today (VA), and The News Journal (DE). John was known for hosting many gatherings to bring family and friends together in celebration. As an avid boater, he also enjoyed spending time on the Chesapeake Bay with friends and family. He was truly a wonderful man to have in this world and will be missed dearly.
John married Barbara Ann Fabian (Salkauski) in 1970 and they lived various locations including New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York, Virginia, and Delaware. The couple shared a deep and loving connection enduring even after Barbara’s passing in 2009. John is proceeded in death by his parents John and Cynthia Fabian, and siblings Florence Love, Mary Harris, and Francis Fabian.
John and Barbara had three sons together and he is survived by Patrick Fabian of Middletown, Delaware, Andy Fabian (Amanda) of Atlanta, Georgia, John Fabian (Janine) Chesapeake City, Maryland. As well as his seven grandchildren Madison, Maci, Jackson, Nolan, Colin, Owen and Kylee. John is also survived by his sisters Dolores Whiteman, Kathleen Buczko, and Patricia Buczko as well as 22 nieces and nephews. John will be deeply missed and remembered by his family, friends and all those who were blessed to know him. His strength, devotion and service will live in the hearts of those who know him.
Friends and Family are invited to visit with John Fabian’s family on Friday January 3rd from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at BEESON FUNERAL HOME OF NEWARK, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702, (302) 453-1900. Funeral service will start at 11:30 AM (at BEESON FUNERAL HOME OF NEWARK), followed by funeral procession to Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, Delaware 19701. Interment at the Cemetery will be at 1 PM.
