Joseph James MacBride “Joe”, 82, of Newark, DE passed away suddenly on October 7, 2022.
Joe was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1940 to the late William and Marian (Paxon) MacBride. He was the youngest of three children. Joe was very active in sports in high school and this love of sports carried over to rooting for Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Flyers and the Eagles (even though he thought they would lose every week). Joe spent most of his career working in maintenance for Crystal-X Plastics in Darby, PA.
Joe is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 58 years, Mary (Barone), daughters and sons-in-law JoAnn and Michael Hevey of Hagerstown, MD and Michele MacBride and Christian Mezzaroba of Glenolden, PA, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Maura Hevey and Parker Mezzaroba. Joe was a devoted husband and father, however, his favorite title was Pop Pop.
He is also survived by his sister Marian States, nephews Jack States (Marianne), David MacBride (Janice) and niece Christina Jackson (Kim) and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, William and Joan MacBride and nephews, Bill and Jim MacBride and great-nephew Brian States.
