Karl W. Wendeler Jr, age 81, caring and devoted husband and father, was joyfully welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on July 13, 2022.
Karl was born in 1940 to Karl W. Wendeler Sr. and Elva Wendeler (Surplus). He resided in Lester, Pennsylvania and graduated from Ridley Park High School. He met his wife Jacquelynn (Jackie) in 1962 and they happily married September 14, 1963. They made their home in Northeast Philadelphia many years before moving to Bear, Delaware.
Karl worked for Boeing for 52 years before he retired in 2014. Boeing is where he began to enjoy traveling both internationally and domestically. He enjoyed learning about other cultures and embraced the local people and their cuisines.
Karl enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. He loved his many trips with Jackie, his family, and friends to Hilton Head Island. Karl, Jackie and their friends traveled by rail several times to California and Chicago. He cherished visiting family and having many stops with adventures along the way. He loved to go out for long drives to visit his favorite shops and restaurants with Jackie and his very close friends. Karl enjoyed sharing recipes, talking about his Philadelphia sports teams, and sharing technology tips with his family and friends.
Karl made many friends everywhere he went and always had a smile or a kind word to offer anyone that he met.
Karl was an active member of the church. He was an Awana children’s ministry volunteer, he taught Sunday school classes for adults, spoke at various church events, and he generously supported missions around the world. He always enjoyed sharing his love of Jesus with friends and family and was faithful to be thankful for everything and pray for friends, family, and others.
Karl is survived by his wife Jacquelynn (Fogarty) Wendeler, son Michael and his wife Karen (Knight) Wendeler, daughter Paula (Wendeler) and her husband Keith Hutchinson, and sister Beverly (Wendeler) and her husband Robert Bunch.
