Larry J. Stiner (Big Lar, Grand Pa Pa), 72, of Wilmington, Delaware passed peacefully Tuesday April 5, 2022 surrounded by his family. Larry was born in Wilmington, DE. The son of Jean (LaRock) and John Stiner. Larry graduated from William Penn High School, Class of 1967. Following graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War (1968-1975).
After the war, he married Frances E. Troutman, settling in Claymont, DE. They celebrated 41 years of marriage. He was employed with Concord Beverage for 28 years, retiring in 2014 never missing a day. Larry was a hard-working man. A loyal and dedicated provider, husband, father and grand pa pa. He enjoyed cooking his family’s favorite meals from the best chicken teriyaki to the most indulgent baked mac and cheese.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Donny. He is survived by his wife, Frances E. Stiner (Troutman); sons Cory L. Troutman and Larry J. Stiner; daughter April J. Kipkogei (Stiner); granddaughter Jemma J. Troutman; grandsons Cayden and Colton Troutman; one brother Jack Stiner; sisters Linda Riley, Bonnie J. Slone and Terry Comer; many nieces and nephews.
A military committal service will be held 10 am Friday April 22 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701.
