Leona Elizabeth (Wagner) Burcham

Leona Elizabeth Burcham, age 85, of Newark, Delaware and formerly of Dover, Delaware, passed away on February 23, 2024 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Leona grew up in Linton, North Dakota and graduated from a Catholic High School in Linton. She worked in retail for a time but was most known as a seamstress who made custom drapes. Her family knew her also as a homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her friends and family, especially the baking of pies.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Charles Burcham.

Leona is survived by her loving husband: Edward Newell Burcham of Newark, DE; her daughter: Debra Lyn Saindon of Newark, DE; her sons: Douglas Edward Burcham (Kathy) of Newark and Ronald Arthur Burcham (Sarah), also of Newark; grandchildren: Amy, Eric, and Kelsey Burcham; and 1 great grandchild: Liam Pfeifer.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 10-11:00 am at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at Beeson Funeral Home. Interment will take place following the service at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE.
