Libner Leblanc, age 80, passed away on March 29, 2023 at his home in Elkton, Maryland.
A man of caliber, courage, and deserving of the utmost respect we all have to offer…
Known to many as Nene, Libner Leblanc made his initial debut into this world in 1942 at the hands of his parents Edgard and Ines Leblanc. A true depiction of pride for one’s nation, Nene was born in the small town of Miragoane located in no other than the ever so prosperous and vibrant country of Haiti.
Throughout his life, Nene held a plethora of jobs ranging from a construction driver back home all the way to a yellow cab driver in the city that never sleeps. One of his favorite sayings was always “those who don’t work can barely play, but those of us that do anywhere can be our playground”.
He met the love of his life Rosemarie Dupont in 1965 and together they lived a great life of 53 loving years. Their love stood the test of time, patience, and above all else never ending partnership. A true pillar of hope and nearly flawless model for what love and union-ship should resemble.
There is no better definition to describe this man but the “life of the party”. Those of you that knew Nene from his earlier days I’m sure all know the phrase “manje manje’m, bamn bon jan”, and boy did he mean it. Never afraid to lend a helping hand, his very last dollar, or even the clothes off of his back to those in need, Nene was truly a man like no other. A monument of excellence that will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
He leaves behind his nine siblings Keslere Leblanc, Edward Leblanc, Mary Jose Leblanc, Antoine Leblanc, Gertha Bernadel, Bernadette Leblanc, Edgard Leblanc Fils, and Serge Leblanc, and Astride Fevry. His beloved wife Rosemarie Leblanc. His son Luigi Leblanc and daughter-in-law Alexandra Jellerette Leblanc. His daughters Daphne Leblanc and Yvenide Leconte and son-in-law Ernst Leconte. His nine grandchildren Jalen Brannon, Nick-olas Leconte, Ava Leblanc, Dylan Brannon, Farah Leblanc, Giselle Leblanc, Sheldon Brannon, Xavier Leconte, and Ariana Leconte. As well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 10-11:00 am at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 2451 Frazer Road, Newark, Delaware 19072. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Cathedral Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware following mass.
