Lloyd Leon Ward, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away at Wilmington Hospital at the age of 87 on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
Lloyd was born in 1934 in Binghamton, NY to Benjamin and Myrtle Ward. He was a US Army Veteran for 6 years, also worked for DuPont for many years, before retiring. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved camping. He loved to sit around the fire and listen to music.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Tuggle Ward; 2 children, Jeff and his wife, Jennifer and Michelle; 4 step-children, Melvin, John, Mary and Nancy. His extended family included many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was dearly loved, is missed by his family, and will be held in our hearts until we meet again.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 11am – 12pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702, where a private service will begin at 12pm. All attending will be required to wear a face mask, and practice social distancing to maintain compliance with state COVID-19 regulations. Admittance will be regulated. A committal service will follow with full military honors in St. Georges Cemetery, 4320 Kirkwood St., Georges Road, Bear, DE 19701. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Seasons Hospice of Delaware, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713.
