Mark John Williams

Mark John Williams, age 68, of Newark, DE, formerly of Pasadena, MD, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Christiana Hospital.

At age 17, Mark joined the Merchant Marines, where he worked for ten years. He later became a member of the Teamsters at the Gloucester Terminal in New Jersey, where he remained until his retirement.

In his younger years, Mark was a bit of a thrill-seeker. He could often be found pulling wheelies on his Kawasaki motorcycle. He also enjoyed playing pool and shooting darts.

Later in life, Mark was happiest riding his Harley-Davidson and taking pride in the appearance of his yard and home. He was not one to sit still for long and kept busy with projects around the house or bringing new life to items others had given up on—whether a lawnmower, snow blower, or hedge trimmers. More often than not, he succeeded.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Rowland Williams; his mother, Doris (Kramer) Williams; his sister, Dawn Williams; her son, Michael Di Angelo; and his grandson, Dallas Taylor.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Williams, of Newark, DE; his children, Charity Brittingham of Milton, DE, Zach Williams of Newark, DE, and Desiree Williams of Newark, DE; his grandchildren, Joe Brittingham and Cloe Brittingham, both of Milton, DE; and his great-grandson, Tate Brittingham, also of Milton, DE. Mark is also survived by his brother, Rowland “Rick” Williams and his wife, Linda, of Taneytown, MD; his sister-in-law, Linda Brown of Baltimore, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, and the special bond he shared with animals—especially the companionship he found with his dogs over the years, Harley and Fey, and his neighborhood feline friend Rusty.

A visitation will be held at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, where a memorial service will begin at 2:00pm.  Burial will be private.
