Martha Elizabeth Hudak, known to her friends as “Marti,” age 80, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on February 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a short illness.
Marti was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Goldey-Beacom College. She built a career as an office manager, bookkeeper, and musical booking agent, skillfully blending her sharp organizational abilities with her lifelong love of music. Her professional life included work with the Wilmington Skating Club, Updike Construction, and Peninsula Entertainment.
She was deeply engaged in her community and valued meaningful connection. Marti was a member of Business & Professional Women, served as a board member of the Brandywine Friends of Old-Time Music, was the smile behind every phone call to the Delaware Valley Bluegrass festival, volunteered with the Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering, and was a devoted member of the River Road Book Club.
A longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Smyrna, Marti was ordained as an elder in 2006 and sang faithfully in the church choir for many years, offering her time and voice in service to her faith community.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Michael J. Hudak and Charles Wall.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Stansell; son-in-law, Thomas Stansell; grandchildren, Justin Mizic, Ryan Stansell, and Alex Stansell; great-grandson, Collin Strzalka; her sister, Barb Britt; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be private for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates contributions to assist with her burial expenses.
